Naruebodindrachinta Reservoir

         Naruebodindrachinta Reservoir or Huay Samong Royal Initiative Project under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty King Rama IX is the greatest gift that His Majesty King Rama IX bestowed upon his people. It is an important source of water which helped revive and regain the livelihood of people in Prachin Buri and nearby provinces. Naruebodindrachinta Reservoir, the last Royal Initiative Project under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty King Rama IX, is an earth dam with a height of 32.75 meters, the width of 9 meters, the length of 3,967.51 meters. It can hold about 295 million cubic meters of water. The construction of the Reservoir took 9 years and used the construction budget of 8,300 million baht. The Reservoir was built in order to help alleviate drought and flood problems, and it was able to expand the irrigation areas to increase farming by 111,300 rai. It also helps preserving the ecosystem and pushing saltwater and polluted water in the Prachin Buri River and Bang Pakong River during the dry season.

          Naruebodindrachinta Reservoir is a new recreational attraction of Prachin Buri that welcomes everyone to see the beauty of the Reservoir with mountains in the background throughout the year. You can walk or run feeling the wind in your face and relax in the evening. There is an exhibition about the history of the Reservoir which the visitors can learn and understand the story of the Reservoir.
