Ban Bo Thong Gold Mine Museum

         Gold Mine was one of the great and successful industries in Kabin Buri District during King Rama V’s reign. Ban Bo Thong Gold Mine Museum was established as a learning ground and in memory of the gold mine back in King Chulachomklao’s reign, in which the governor of Prachin Buri, Pra Preechakonlakarn was in charge of the operation. Information on gold mine operation is presented in the museum, including Placer Mining, Underground Mining, and mineral separation. The museum is also full of document, archaeological objects, and gold mining equipment such as mine surveying instruments, and samples of minerals. To make the museum more interesting and create a vivid image for visitors, the process of gold mining simulation is also being displayed. Over a hundred years’ worth of gold mining history at Ban Bo Thong has made this museum a memorial and source of knowledge about the gold mining history that was once a very successful industry in this town for the new generations.

Direction : By Car From Bangkok, take highway 3452 and travel about 40 kilometers along Suwannasorn Road. Once you reach Sam Taharn Intersection, keep going straight for another 7 kilometers. At the Nong Sang – Wang Takien Police Booth, take a right and keep going for 2 kilometers and you will see Ban Bo Thong Gold Mine Museum.
