Mai Nabun Temple Floating Market

Mai Nabun Temple Floating Market was initiated by Phrakhru Boonkhet Thaphorn, the abbot of the temple, and the Ecclesiastical Commune-Chief of Tambon Krok Sombun, collaborated with the local leaders and people in the village to be a tourist attraction and a trading area. The market was intentionally designed and decorated with the style that existed during the late Ayutthaya period and the early of Thonburi. Featuring a historical ambience, the villagers also wear traditional Thai costume and Thai hand-woven fabric. A variety of food can be found in the market, including Ba Bin (fried sweet shredded coconut pancake), Wan Yen (ice with syrup and milk), other rare Thai traditional food, and chemical-free vegetables and herbs. On every Sundays, the Community Book House is available for visitors to learn local professions, including making herbal soap or Thai massage. Apart from the food, visitors can enjoy Thai dances performed by Baan Wang Thalu students as well.

Last but not least, the tourists can relax and appreciate the nostalgic surroundings by either cycling the pedal boats that are available at the market’s pond or taking a local rowing boat.
